Nearly a full month of rain and wind - vanquished!

An un-forecasted spectacular day came rolling in mid-afternoon, so I
quit work a bit early, picked up some sandwiches on the way home,
loaded the clan and the dog in the car, and took the boat out to the
west side of Portland Island. There's a great sandy beach out there
that gets full sun - when it's shining - and even an old, rough picnic
table covered in decades of pocket knife carvings. We ran, skipped
rocks, tossed the tennis ball for Taka (who's FINALLY swimming), dug
in the sand, got the 42-degree water over our boots, sand in our
diaper, and sunlight on our faces. Gotta get up and go when these
days come along... great, great evening. Even worth both of the boys
completely melting down by the time we wrassled 'em into bed.
