Starting solid foods

A fun little clip of an average, run-of-the-mill dinner...

And a few more...

At the top of the growth curves... Elias at ~ 6 months.

Chubby feet and partners. A nice shot take by October during one of Elias' naps.

Shooting Star Party

Everyone is exhausted after our "Shooting Star Party" early this morning... I got the kids up at 12:30 AM and bundled them up, packed up popcorn, string cheese, and huge down sleeping bags... we drove out to the West Glacier trailhead and spent nearly 2 hours in the back of the pickup looking up at the stars and watching the peak of the Perseid meteor shower. It was great - we saw dozens of shooting stars even though broken clouds were rolling through. October and Elias ended up staying home, cuddled up in that big bed, and that was a pretty good decision, too...

Mmmm... Jiffy Pop. A great camp snacktivity.

Finn's 4 1/2 Birthday Party

The toughest birthday of the year - Christmas Day - comes with a side benefit in our family... a full-blown, day-of-your-own half birthday party every June. This was a great one - an astronaut party - where October had the kids make up their own jet packs. We supplied the spray-painted boxes with plastic cups on the bottom for jets and wide ribbons for shoulder straps, and the kids added decorations, names, and other customizations. Our great friend Mandy made the rocket cake, and the kids washed it down (kind of) with freeze-dried astronaut ice cream. Oh, and don't forget the home-made paper mache asteroid pinata!
