October and Finn at the Beach, July 2007

October and Finn on the Oregon Coast in 2007. We stayed at a beach house in Manzanita for a week, where October's family held a reunion. I snapped this picture as October and Finn entered the beach from a short trail through the dunes. So far, it's my single favorite photo of October and Finn together.

Psych, part deux...

All systems in suspend. No contractions since last night, all is quiet this morning. The night before last at the hospital now seems like a fuzzy dream, punctuated that morning by the worst hospital version of biscuits and gravy you can imagine. Back to stand-by mode...

Psych!!!

Well, we spent all last night in Bartlett Regional Hospital with October in labor. Long, sleepless story short: by morning everything had quieted down and things weren't advancing, so we came home. October has still had mild contractions all day long, and right now they're getting less regular but stronger. We're gonna get some sleep (so we think...) and see what happens tomorrow. Big thanks to great friends here in Juneau who are making things so easy by caring for Maille and Finn...
