Mother's Day Adventuring

We had great weather for a picnic and mushroom hunting in a prescribed fire from last fall.  It was a really nice to get out with our local moms and search the charred soil for the first morels of the year.  Even though the temps have been warmer (finally) the last week or so, the soil is still cool and the morels are just starting to show themselves.   We had to work for it, but ended up with about a gallon.  We'll prepare these fresh - maybe in a cream sauce to ladle over deer or elk steaks we've been saving.

Mom/Grammy Moynahan - We're so, so thankful for everything you've poured into our family, and we try to do our best to model your selflessness and generosity.  We try to emulate your instinct to smile freely and appreciate that the 'small things' are actually the big things.

Marilyn/Nana Montana - Your kindness and positivism are boundless... And both are so important to us as a model and for what they mean to your grandkids.  And you keep us guessing!

October - you're frickin' awesome.  Smart, patient, and fundamentally kind.
